Troy Michael at The Rosebowl: A New Year, A New Format
Kicking off the year with blues music and a shift from meals to experiences.

So, what's going on with It's My Treat? The original plan was to have a meal with someone at least once a week for a year. I wrote up 47 meals that I went on last year and had some more that I didn't write up, so I would say it was a successful project. Now with the new year, I have to decide if I am going to continue. Here is what I came up with:
First, I have loved the project so far. I am going to continue it with a couple of modifications. I am going to get rid of the once weekly requirement. I've got some other projects that I want to do, so I might need to free up some time to do those. That means that I will be doing these, but maybe not as regularly. The second change is I am going to add experiences instead of just meals. It is great to have a meal with someone, but I do love to go out and see a concert or play or something that might be fun. My meal with Derrick Braun turned from just a meal to going out to a concert and seeing some great music. So much fun. I'd like to have more of those.
So, to get things started, tonight I went to Rosebowl to see Andrew Duncanson & Michael Peloquin album release party. Went there with my friend Troy Michael, but when I got there, I saw so many of my old friends. With the cold temperatures, I wasn't sure how many people would be there, but hearing the best bluesman in town was enough to bring out the crowd. The packed place was treated with two hours of great blues music. Not as much talking for concerts, so I don't have much to write about, but I had fun. Troy had fun. And it seemed like the whole crowd had a good time.
Here's to the first of hopefully many good events this year.
