I buy lunch. You answer one question.

Your info, plainly

This is a one-person project. Here is exactly what happens with anything you send me, and what this site connects to.

When you fill out the guest check

I get your name, your email, and anything you wrote (a favorite spot, a question, whether you'd like to get lunch). It's saved in this site's database and emailed to me so I can reply.

The site also notes your internet address so it can stop spam (a few sends per hour). That address is cleared automatically after 90 days.

Only I see it. I don't sell it, share it, or add you to any list. There is no email list running right now.

How long I keep it, and deleting it

I keep it until you ask me to delete it. To ask, reply to any email I've sent you, or send another guest check that says "please delete my info". I'll delete it from the site and from my email.

The site makes backups so nothing is lost if something breaks. No backup is kept longer than a year, so after a deletion, any older copy is gone within a year at most. If I ever have to restore an old backup, anyone who asked to be deleted is removed again right away.

What this site connects to

  • YouTube. Video thumbnails load from YouTube's image server. The video player itself (YouTube's privacy-enhanced version) loads only when you press play, and from then on YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
  • Share buttons. "Pass it on" uses plain links. Nothing from Facebook, X or Bluesky loads unless you click one.
  • Fonts are served from this site. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies.

Kept only on your device

Which stories you've read (the READ stamps and "your tab") is remembered in your own browser, not sent to me. Clearing your browser's site data erases it.
